Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Groundable takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is stored, and how it is used. We do not sell your data.

2. Data We Collect

When you use Groundable, the following data may be stored:

  • Account data. Your email address and authentication credentials, managed via Supabase Auth.
  • Knowledge Packs. The Knowledge Packs you generate, including their titles, sections, sources, and AI-generated content.
  • Transcripts. YouTube transcripts and manually submitted text used to generate Knowledge Packs. These are processed server-side and stored as part of the associated Knowledge Pack or generation job.
  • Usage events. Anonymised usage signals (e.g. Knowledge Pack generated, section refined) used to understand how the Service is used and improve it.
  • Feedback. Optional ratings or comments you submit about a Knowledge Pack.

3. How Data Is Stored

All server-side data is stored in Supabase, a hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security. This means:

  • Your Knowledge Packs and data are only accessible to your account.
  • Data is stored in a secure, access-controlled environment.
  • Some Knowledge Pack data is also cached in your browser's localStorage for faster load times. This data is stored only on your device.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

Groundable uses cookies and browser storage only for authentication (to keep you logged in) and to cache your Knowledge Packs locally. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

Groundable uses the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase - database and authentication.
  • OpenAI- AI Knowledge Pack generation and evidence synthesis. Transcript text and Knowledge Pack content may be sent to the OpenAI API for processing. OpenAI's own privacy policy applies.
  • YouTube Data API- used to fetch video metadata and transcripts. Governed by Google's Terms of Service.
  • Brave Search / Serper - optionally used to search for web evidence. Query text may be sent to these providers when the Web Evidence Check is triggered.

6. We Do Not Sell Your Data

Groundable does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.

7. Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us via the Groundable website. Upon deletion, your Knowledge Packs, transcripts, usage events, and account information will be permanently removed from our systems.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, data is removed promptly. Anonymised usage events may be retained for analytical purposes.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
